Looking to buy a meter to measure damp walls and also use it to check the progress of my ever growing
log store
Any recommendations ? was thinking of DIGITAL MOISTURE DAMP METER WOOD PLASTER CONCRETE TEMP | eBay.

the best ones are made by protimeter but they will set you back hundreds.

As with most things you get what you pay for but that looks ok to tell you if it is dry or not and you are not too bothered about the ultimate accuracy.

Fully appreciate that. Can get one for a fiver but I know it'll be sh1te. I want it more for comparitive
readings several days apart so as you point out, ultimate accuracy is less important.

If you're really desperate an ordinary multi-meter on the ohms x 10k scale will give you a pretty good indication, just stick the probes in a couple of inches apart....

I've got one of these puppies for checking my logs:

Digital Damp Meter Tester Detector Wood Timber Moisture | eBay (not from this supplier, but similar)

I know this isn't going to be especially accurate - but it's more than adequate for checking that my firewood is well under 20% moisture.

I probably wouldn't trust it for checking damp in buildings,, but I didn't buy it for that job
