We run a pretty busy eBay shop, today we got this message copied below, copied exactly is it landed in our box.

"Hello, if I may ask. I have ordered the rack, and yet I did not come. If I could ask is how would it put sprvit, that you delivered it to me. And be paid the pay and give me guessing. I have it already odjednane long and the council to have it closed"

looks like its been written in a customers own language, then put through an online translator, and thats the result!
you sold anything abroad recently? czech republic perhaps? odjednane appears to show on czech sites when entered to google

If its from a previous buyer, they can start a dispute.
If they are yet to buy, and asking stupid questions like 'what if somethings wrong with it' before they have even bought it then its probably not worth bothing with them! If you have a store and have good feedback, they should be able to work it out themselves.

He's not got his item, even though he's paid for it, he's not happy and he's complained to ebay for a refund.

That's my missus' best guess (she's got 100% positive, 4k feedback)

Well I have actually messaged this guy around 8 times now, this is the 1st one he as sent us, they bought an item back in December but selected collect in person to remove the postage then paid, its a regular scam people try hoping you miss it and post the item.

The items sat here waiting collection as Ive told them 9 times now including my reply to the garbled message above.
They are UK based.

Beware of the scam if your a regular ebay seller, we ship sometimes over 200 items per day, very easy to miss when your processing so many.

I think id just refund them and leave them to it!

Have you emailed him and told him how much it will cost to post it to him if he cannot collect ? It sounds like he might be asking about postage in a strange tongue.

If its uk based sounds like someone trying to scam free postage as you said.
