There was a recent thread on here about e readers, does anyone have any experience of the new?Kobo Vox colour WiFi reader? it is from WH Smith, looks more like a tablet, colour screen, emails, browser, etc seems a very good price for what it does.
Decide whether you want a tablet or an e-reader..
If you want an e-reader, get a kindle. I've got one and it's simply superb. I don't intend to, and never do, use it for anything else,
although it does have free global 3g for when I got stranded with no internet in USA.
No personal exprience with the WHS kobo units!

There's a review of the Kobo Vox in this month's Computer Shopper. They weren't impressed, it only received two out of five stars and
to quote:-
"The Vox is not really an e-reader, but a cheap android tablet that suffers from a slow processor and unresponsive touchscreen"
The Kobo Vox is simply a lowish end Android tablet, so you get all the pitfalls that brings to a reading device; poor screen (compared to e-ink), far
worse battery life (I've only charged my Kindle twice since Christmas, and I use it every night), heavier and more bulky.
Obviously you get the advantage of a full colour screen, better web browser and ability to install apps, as you do with any tablet, but if you want
something primarily for reading ebooks then the disadvantages greatly outweigh the advantages IMO.
Look at either the Kindle or the Kobo eReader for a serious ebook device, or if you really want an inexpensive tablet computer then wait a little
while for the Kindle Fire which seems to be a better device in most respects.
Android phones are pretty good e-book readers

Thanks for the responses, I suspected it was a cheapish tablet really and the battery life is nothing like an e reader. Ah well.
Just bought a Kindle from Amazon it was $99 .
Agreed, if you want it to read books get a Kindle. Battery life on them is unbelievable, i hardly ever have to put mine on charge. Also tablets may be ok for reading books in normal light, however try sitting outside in bright sunlight with it. The kindle reduces any glare off the screen.
