Coincidence!?
scootz - 18/5/12 at 07:57 PM

Had to dig a hole for a dear friend yesterday. Out for a walk with the dogs and one broke her neck whilst chasing rabbits. Eight years of fun and cuddles consigned to the memory bank.

By a strange quirk of fate, the breeder called us out of the blue. He kept one of her brother's from the litter and they've been re-united a couple of times during the course of their lives. Bit of a coincidence getting a call from him given what had just happened don't you think.

Coincidence!?

Born on the same day.... more than 3000 days on the planet... and it turns out her brother died yesterday too!

Wow, I didn't realise stuff like that could happen to dogs, they seem so solid!

I hope it happened quickly.

Sorry for your loss

They start off as pets but become members of the family very quickly

Scootz, sincere condolences mate.
IMHO, dogs make better company than most humans.

Feeling for you.

I will be equally gutted when

<----- this one departs one day.

As iI was scrolling down to reply I came across this reply, which put into words exactly what I was intending to say!

I have buried two pets whilst not being able to see to dig as in floods of tears and have yet I have a lovely, soft as muck, black Labrador sat on my feet as I type this.
I bet she knew she was loved every day !

Kindest regards
Jon

Ditto - they ask so little and deliver so much!

Sad times but in time you will be good memories.

I've lost 2 special friends but have 2 more lying on my feet as i type. You can't replace them because they're all different but i wouldn't be without them!

Sorry to hear the news Scott But a good life while they are here is the main thing.

We lost our old neighbour (86) last year and she had a Border Terrier who was 16, deaf and almost blind. He would never have lasted without her around as he used to pine if she was away for a night. We always used to look after him while she was away and the family (who lived away) asked if we could arrange to have him put to sleep. That has got to be the worst thing I've ever done! I've had to deal with it for our dogs over the years but for some reason that one made me feel a right B*****d

And we still go and get another, must be mad.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

I just find it really bizarre (and strangely comforting) that her brother should die on the same day.
