Only once you are sure you will win...
Maybe time for an English National Party...and a vote on a English parliament/independance for England. Now that would be interesting.

Salmond is all talk. He won't act until he thinks he can win, which isn't any time soon. He's chosen a historic anniversary because he knows the Scots don't want independence and his only chance to fluke a Yes is on a tide of nationalism. It demonstrates loudly that he knows he's in a minority.
i wish he'd hurry up and have his inevitable heart attack...
all i hear is 'scotland will be more prosperous after independance'
no explaination as to how though, just that 'it will be'...
quite enjoyed this too
link i saw on another website
i just wish we could all be as patriotic about the UK as america is shouting USA! USA! all the time. well, maybe not that much, but almost

So how is Scotland going to pay for it's portion of the national debt? It can't be independent unless it coughs up it's fair share of what the UK currently owes.

He'll also have to adopt the Euro, and pay for Greece.
I was wondering about this ruled by Westminster argument - it's so far away (like 400miles)!, But then, so's Perth from the ACT (like
4000ish miles) and that still works.
At least if he loses, we won't hear from him again.
As for Americans always shouting "USA, USA", it's cos they keep forgetting where they are, because they're too busy being Italian
American, Indian American, Irish American, whateverAmerican. No bozzo's, you're American or Italian or Indian etc etc.

I heard today only 25% of Scots residents are interested in independance
However, this springs to mind....
"What have the Romans ever done for us"
http://youtu.be/ExWfh6sGyso
I didn't read all of that article but something near the top seems a bit odd to me, "only 58% of his OWN party back Scottish independence as
fears grow over economy". I'm guessing by that they mean it's the time frame they're not agreeing with but almost half of the SNP
not wanting independence seems a bit wierd, like finding out half of the BNP aren't racists.
None of this is really about independence. Alec Salmond isn't even Scottish. He's a half human, half Fish decendent of Dagon who's
secretly plotting some sort of ritual to raise the ancient nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh.
Interesting idea on the Jeremy Vine show yesterday was to give the whole of the UK the vote on Scots independence. So even if the Scots peeps
don't vote for it, and the rest of us do
Fwiw, I think we're better off with the status quo, though agree all nations of the Union should control more of their own affairs whether that
be Scotland/Wales/NI and England .

In the main, Wee-Eck only has the one argument to contend with and he's expert at it!
I've yet to see anyone take him on in an independence debate and not come a very distant second-best.
Bob - Surely the words "cunning & slippery" apply to most egoticians
My main concern regarding all of this, will I need my passport when I visit scootz , and will smuggling car parts into England become an offence.
Otherwise we may all dib out to Scots first dibbers on his sales.
I'll dig a tunnel to move the merchandise past the border-guards Ivo!
On a slightly more serious note, has there actually been any disscussion with the EU as to whether seperatists (For want of a better term) from a current EU member state would be eligible for membership?
