Shame our country doesn;t treat our VET's (veterans) with the respect or dignity they are due. Most Vets' in the USA are well respected by the community and also well treated by government.. What do ours get CJD and Debt collectors for missing rent payments on there houses while out in IRAQ

The disabled veterans are much better treated (and respected) now than they where after the Falklands.

The Armed Services expect serving personal to be responsible for their finances so if someone got evicted and a CCJ while on active services it should have been sorted by the person concerned. In fact he is likely to be charged by the commanding office for bringing the service into disrepute.

When I was a Division CPO in the RN I had a number of guys with this type of issue. What would happen normally is the Navy would sort the problem and then charge them for the costs and they would be put under punishment. I presume this would be the same for the other armed services.

Technical you can't be a 'Vet' until you leave the armed services.
