I seem to have accumulated lots of books over the years (several hundred) and now I have a kindle.

I never seem to read them again once read so why do I keep them? they just take up room and gather dust.

Should I get rid? is it worth the effort to try and sell them?

Should I list them on here for you guys?

Any suggestions welcome

I re-read my favourites all the time so can't imagine selling off a lot of mine.

You can sell your books on Amazon.

You set up an account a bit like ebay.

The obvious question is, are the books you will want to read again and again, are they available on kindle
if they are fine get rid, if not....
On a personal note I couldn't imagine getting rid of my collection of books, mind you the space saved would
allow me to have some more parts of cars, I mean projects, in the house *evil laughter*

I like books. I like actually having them rather than just an electronic copy.
When I have had a few books to sell, they are basically worthless and heavier than you think, so selling them will not realy generate you much cash, plus the hassle of listing, posting, fees etc.
Thats why I tend to keep my books.

Unless you have some interesting ones you can post on here for us to browse.
But weigh them first to give you an idea of postage costs.

Charity shop?

I collect books and magazines so I really don't see why you'd get rid of them but I'm going to second the above poster, donate them to charity as they'll beable to sell them and do some good with the money, unless they're rare you'd be lucky to break even selling them.

I'd third the charity shop thing, they can sell them for pence and still turn a profit.

When i finish a book, i usually know if i expect to read it again. Brilliant ones get kept, good ones go to the charity shop - ive had a lot of good books from there, so its nice to send a selection back. There are some books ive read 3 or more times - LOTR for one, magician by raymond feist, plus some of the Iain M Banks ones.

One day i'll have a room dedicated to being a library, til then its boxes in the loft.
