I really can't believe this car went for that much.

Kids these days, too much money.

'I lowered it 40mm on spax because last time I lowered it to much'.

Jesus Christ, last time I looked 30mm was a long way, but more than 40!!!

Mikey G - 11/9/04 at 07:08 PM

the name of the winner says it all, he must be a big **** to buy it

Ben_Copeland - 11/9/04 at 08:02 PM

What a heap of shite !!!!!!!!

chrisg - 11/9/04 at 08:21 PM

What a big bag of nutsack that is!

I love the bit

"It has a 1.2 engine"

what a set of complete and utter, utter dickheads.

Cheers

Chris

Mark Allanson - 11/9/04 at 08:34 PM

20 of its 60bhp must be used to drive the sterio!

Hellfire - 11/9/04 at 09:12 PM

You're all just jealous!!!!

He obviously has had a gender crisis and wants to prove he is a boy!

andyps - 11/9/04 at 09:15 PM

Amazing - paying £5600 for something where the reserve is so clearly stated at £3300!

Add the cost of all the boy racer bits mentioned tot he cost of a '94 corsa and there is a good profit there. Trouble is you would have to be seen owning it at some time!

How can you do all of that and stick to a 1.2 engine - sod the insurance, spend a fraction of the money the body kit etc. cost and make it go and stop properly.

mangogrooveworkshop - 11/9/04 at 09:56 PM

prime candidate for the website if***kedupmycar.com

Peteff - 11/9/04 at 10:14 PM

with the tiny disc inside it. You could change the pads through the spokes without even jacking the car up. Brilliant idea.

dave1888 - 11/9/04 at 10:57 PM

The word fannybaws springs to mind

mangogrooveworkshop - 11/9/04 at 11:30 PM

This should make about ten grand then

In fact that website alister posted came up with a million quids worth of sheds...Just have to get mark thatcher to find some fools to buy them http://www.jon44w.com/site2/forumdisplay.php?fid=32

Cita - 12/9/04 at 06:40 AM

The winning bidder was bigwillyben,i mean BIGWILLYBEN?????????
If his brains are as big as his "willy" than this is the proof that the size of the brain is in no relation to the I.Q. number for human beings.(not that i know the size of his willy though)

Benzine - 12/9/04 at 08:34 AM

I wish i had won that superb corsa. That would make the girls like me more, right?

Peteff - 12/9/04 at 09:44 AM

Or looking at pictures of them and beating yourself off Ben. The downforce on the Civic from that rear spoiler must be really something. It would have been even more if he'd nailed the whole pallet on. . He must be saving up for the other 3 alloys, I like his sense of humour.

stephen_gusterson - 12/9/04 at 10:52 AM

at the top of my road there is a family with no less than TWO customised, bodykitted corsa's painted in pink.......

john_p_b - 12/9/04 at 02:59 PM

do i detect there aren't many fans of 'modded cars' on here?

phelpsa - 12/9/04 at 03:11 PM

Well, not the corsa/saxo gang, I dont mind the skylines/iimprezas/evos.

Adam

Benzine - 12/9/04 at 03:27 PM

A heavily modified Vauxhall Nova is a thing of great beuty.

JoelP - 12/9/04 at 04:28 PM

now, im my opinion, there is such a thing as a cool nova, cos is getting a little older now. As soon as i remember im gonna post a picture of a car i saw recently, a polo with a rack of exhaust outlets on the back. but its blatenly just 6 tubes, on a rack, with the original exhaust poking out between them. hilarious...

anyway, back to novas. I reckon that, with a 2ltr tubro conversion, big wheels and lowered, de locked/badged and smoothed tailgate, NO viper stripes and NO 'motorsport' stickers, with a nice front bumper and a nice pearlescent flip paint, the car would look cool. Saxos and corsas are tacky pieces of crap.

bad taste is bad taste, regardless of how much horse power there is under the bonnet.

the interior of that nova is higher class than a std impretza methinks.

What gets me is that impretzas are actually dog ugly. If they had 100hp instead of 225+ no one would buy one.

john_p_b - 12/9/04 at 06:56 PM

totally agree with steve there.

tis like all the fuss with skylines, i dare say if they still had a datsun badge on them and the reputation with it then they wouldn't be so loved as they are.

i've done a few bits to my escort, lowered, 17"s, exhaust, induction kit, and a whole load of stereo inside.

it's pretty subtle from the outside and yeah i've had ppl taking the seriously pi$$ for 'spending good money on a bloody escort' but at the end of the day it's my car and money so it's all good plus i can watch a film when i get stuck on the M25 now

phelpsa - 12/9/04 at 07:06 PM

Yes, I thought that that was the point with a subaru impreza (and evos, but not so much), especially the bug-eye or estate versions, they look bland and ugly but underneath there is some serious power. But now people have come to look past its looks and see the power from the outside. It has something to do with the wheel arches and spoiler?? If you removed them (as s
Subaru did with the GX) it would look absolutely butt ugly.

Adam

phelpsa - 12/9/04 at 07:11 PM

See

The GX

The STI

And the modified

Adam

phelpsa - 12/9/04 at 07:13 PM

And the GX has 100hp, best of bothe worlds

Adam

john_p_b - 12/9/04 at 08:44 PM

the modified one only has stickers! surely everything else there is factory standard?

And no-one does buy the 100bhp version.

I don't personally want to create or have a modded car, but some of them are very well done. Just that personally I would always have power without looks rather than the other way round. Of course, the looks thing is very personal.

stephen_gusterson - 12/9/04 at 10:25 PM

If you got a hyundai accent in metallic blue and stuck a big spoiler on the back, and a scoop on the bonnet, it would rate about the same in the beauty stakes.

mackie - 12/9/04 at 11:09 PM

Nasty. You could build a realy nice trackday performance hatch for that money.
I'm inclined to mod my car a bit but only for the purpose of improving the drive. I like the idea of a sleeper Cossie brakes, eibach springs and dampers, poly bushes, upper and lower braces, 160bhp engine upgrade, racing puma seats and some nice harnesses. Bye bye £4k Add another grand for the shot peined gearbox with lsd.
Or I could just trade it in for a racing puma

skinny - 13/9/04 at 08:56 AM

reckon that without gran turismo games, imprezas and evo's would never have caught on.

yes they go rallying, but you don't see anyone buying rally inspired corollas or 206's.

mackie - 13/9/04 at 09:32 AM

That's because there are no rally inspired Corrolas or 206s
There is little doubt though that GT massively increased the profile of cars like the Skyline and and pretty much every other jap performance car.

ChrisW - 13/9/04 at 10:30 AM

I'm quite into hot hatches as I'm sure some of you know but I still don't like cars either have stupid mods or are 'all show and no go'.

Eg my XR2 has alloys, Spax suspension, ST24 brakes, 2.0 CVH engine with all the necessary bits and an S2 ERST gearbox with LSD. That's what I call modifying, none of this 'stick on' crap.

Good theory. I've wondered if he thought he might get lucky with sxy_girl_racr on his "test drive".
