Are any of you folks in the Hydro energy business?
I am trying to find an industrial placement year as part of my Engineering degree and would very much like to work in that sector.. but not sure who
to be pestering.

Come to sunny* Fort William to work at the Rio Tinto smelter, powered by their own hydro plant. 5 kick ass turbines.
* The only time it stops raining is when its snowing... You don't build a hydro plant somewhere dry!

scotland is the place to be, the further north the better
there are more than 80 up here, but only ~30 odd in england and less than 10 in wales....
scottish power have a few (and have been hiring hundreds of engineers)
nearly all the rest of decent sizs up here are SSE (scottish hydro is part of SSE these days)

go to new Zealand i recall over 30% of their power is hydro.
Think I got the wrong idea when I saw the words hydro and dodgy in the title :-)
