Ferrari made tractors!
mangogrooveworkshop - 18/9/04 at 05:38 PM

This one appears to be returning to the original Ferrari business.

Both still do apparently.

They use those V12 tractor engines in power boats,i've been unfortunate enough to witness how scrared you can get at 130mph in a 40ft cat with two of them in.

Sorry to be pedantic - it was Lamborghini who started out as tractor makers. Ferrari started out as race car manufacturers. The Ferrari link to tractors is only through Fiat.

Lamborghini only made his own sports car because he was jealous of Maserati.

And Pagani used to work for Lamborghini too...

I read in several places that feruccio originally was fed up with ferrari service, so built his own!
Such was the arrogance of exotica back then , they really didn't take care of customers, unlike today, i guess...witness Ettore Buggatti's reply to a customer who had difficulty to start his car in the cold weather "Get a heated garage!"
Anyone feel any sympathy with the idea that Ferraris are for footballers and Lambos for those who really know....or is that just snobbery! Like the snobbery 12 cyliner F. owners feel over 8 cylinder F owners!
Personally would love to afford the running costs of either one, thjough of course some a re better than others, and more beautiful.

I'd like the price of a dealer service on any one of them, probably live on it for ten years.

Dealer service price! I was working at a Ferrari owners house years back and he told me what it cost . The guy had to fly a mac out from Italy to do his car as the local Johannesburg dealer hadnt tooled/trained up for this car(private import). The cost was twelve thousand rand which at that time was the cost of a Pickup truck new. Ouch Cant remember what model it was though.
