Hi all what make and size plasma cutters is best to cut mild steel up to 8mm thick

It depends on how clean you expect it cut as to how much you want to spend? I have a cheap chinese cut40 £160-200 that makes clean cuts up to 3mm any thing over that and a 9" grinder does a better job. If you want laser cut clean then your looking at some thing like a hypertherm 45 which are around £1600-2000 new.

You also need to consider the price of consumables, my Cebora cutter is expensive in this respect.
