Did anyone watch the program last night on a dirty bomb exploding in London. The thought that its a case of when, not if, this is going to happen really isn't very pleasant. When the IRA blew up Canary Warf, it rattled my kitchen windows, and I live 6 miles away. This kind of weapon is a real nasty piece of work. Reminds me of the 1980's when everyone was digging in for a full on Nuclear exchange with the Russians !

All these "what if?" scaremongering programs annoy me a bit.

didnt see it but what occured to me was

1. why dramatize and make people worried about something you cant really stop or do anything about

and

2. show budding terrorists exactly how to do it and how effective the result might be.

Iraq should have all the radioactive material they need with the depleted uranium they've had thrown at them over the years. I don't watch stuff that is going to depress me any more, it's pointless. I prefer to use the television as escapism, entertainment and information. I watched 'Legally Blonde' last night then switched the telly off.

Apparently, there's a near-miss due on Wednesday! It's going to pass 4 x the distance from Earth to the moon, so "very close" in astronomical terms.

Mind you, the last near miss they didn't spot until a day after it had passed...

In this mornings paper that police had just arrested 4 men for a suspected 'dirty bomb' plot.
They had been scouring the underworld trying to buy 'red mercury' a key ingredient.

so what was that got chopped down in old wolverton road by the canal? im pretty sure that the replacement is just a casing.

Also, i came to within a whisker of getting nicked on silbury boulevard today - the bastards park a speed van in the centre reservation hidden by the trees. Most of the roads are 40 or 60 in that area - cept the couple that parallel the shopping centre. I was doing 32 I think.... could have so easily been 40 - and its dual carriageway too!!!!!

I'm suprised there are any cops left in the UK, we seem to have them all down here in Brighton - one good thing though, you can drve around town as fast as you like, cos they've got more to worry about at the moment.

All the main roads into town have got a camera van on them, gave me a scare at first (I was doing nearer 50 in a 40) till I realised they all out recording numberplate info.

They were warning everybody to stay away from the seafront cos of delays. Seem to have worked well tonite, I drove home that way and didn't see another car in my side of the road for 2 miles! And the entire way was line with cops - it was like they were all out for me


BTW - did anybody see the TV prog about the 'fake' moon landins? Totally fancinating - loads of incontravertible proof that they never actually went there - remember 'Capricorn One'? - all true!!

Apparently, they are going to send an orbiting surface scanner round the moon next year. It will map the surface to a very high resolution.....We should see the remnants of the many Apollo landing sights.... moon buggy etc. Of course, if you believe in the conspiricy theorists, then you will think that they will fake the results anyway !
