I've had one of these smart phones for about a year now, and never done anything really smart with it....
What apps do you use, have come across, found usefull etc. on a car and motoring theme?
For a bit of fun I downloaded 'trackcam' which is a camcorder with onboard lap timer, data logger, route logger, G ball and on screen speedo
used by GPS
Have a search on YouTube there are some examples on there...

I do use Torque quite a bit, but you need a bluetooth ELM327 dongle as well.
Other than that, I use it to watch films while I'm sat in the car waiting to pick up my daughter... that's probably about as car related as
I get! Oh yeah, and satnav when I'm not bothered about getting to my destination on time....
Torque is brilliant, that and Google nav is about it for me car wise.
Torque one of the best OBD II diagnostic software tools around ---
Google nav is the best StatNav App
For maps Coder (-) maps is very good for OpenStreetMap it gives you a different map detail from Google Maps.
With mapping apps it pays to pre-download and cache maps you will need.
You also want an app that moves other apps on to the micro SD card or you will run out of space.
Filmon for watching hd tv, I use navigon sat nav got it for nowt, Torque, Ulysse speedometer, Shazam, gdmss lite for CCTV jobs
Cheers,
Bob
trackmaster for car data logging. Google maps as a navy and mp3 player while driving long distances in the striker.
other apps include
online banking
rightmove
Facebook
imdb
ebay
i would say most useful app is touch, the one on my S2 is the brightest flash out of any phone. its ridiculously bright.
smart phones are only as smart as th brain attached to the finger hitting it!

Only car related one I use is Comm Base GPS Speedo app.
It's useful to see how accurate (or not) the car's speedo is - my Passat reads 70mph at a GPS indicated 66/67mph.
I tried a few speedo apps, but this one lets me set the dial to blue and needle to red, which matches the Passats dials
I did try a data logging app once, but the stats for commuting and motorway driving don't excite too much
