Hi all,
do I have any protection if I send cash via a "gift" on Pay Pal?
Also how much are the fees on a £100 transaction for the receiver if I am not using the gift option?
Cheers
Nick
If it is a gift you have no comeback. It is not meant for a purchase, merely as a gift.
i believe fees are 4%, but maybe nothing if from a bank account or cleared paypal balance?
You can do a mock try and see without actually sending the money, or choose to pay the fees yourself.
Regular paypal fees are 3.4% + 20p
Only use gift if you are sending cash to friends or family
never for a transaction as you have no protection.
better to send payment + 4% the normal way
if they don't want to pay the fee.
be wary.
There does not seem to be an option to pay the fees when sending a payment on pay pal?? Am I being stupid? sorri I dont use it normally.
Cheers
You have to manually add it to the total.
There is no protection if sent as a gift. Then again, even when it's applicable, PayPals "protection" can leave you well out of pocket
on items that are expensive to ship.
To work out how much to send to cover the fees you can use a PayPal Fee Calculator.
