skyfall DVD problems
JC - 17/3/13 at 04:14 PM

Hi all, was bought the Skyfall DVd for my birthday . Tried it on Friday night and it didn't register in my DVD player, or the
Ps2. It worked on my laptop though. I exchanged it today and the new one is exactly the same!!!!! DVD player works fine with all other DVDs - is there something new on DVDs that is stopping it working?????????

Unless the disc is obviously defective in some way, the most common cause is the region the DVD was written for, is your player capable of playing the region code of the DVD?, does it run on a PC even ?. Programs are available to create the DVD into a region free disc as well.

You sure they didn't get it 'cheap'? Might be the wrong region?

Surely if its only the ps2 that it fails on then its likely to be that at fault!

Are you sure your computer didn't just uncover one of the huge plot-holes? I guess it's only some super-computers that can find them as they certainly evaded the critics!

Lol!!! It came from a dodgy place called ASDA I'm afraid! The only thing I can come up with is that the frickin laser in the laptop is more powerful, as it is a DVD writer. Maybe the DVD player and the ps2 are the equivalent of mildly mutated sea bass!!!

Ps2 laser issues are common, ur lucky it still works, its as out of date as a bbc micro these days.

A slightly poor comparison, PS2's only went out of production in December last year...

I have lots of trouble with bought DVD's, and Blu Rays are even worse. I have a Harry Potter Blu Ray box set that contains a set of films that don't play on my player, so I got them ripped and play them from a hard drive.

I now only buy DVD's to stay legal, I just assume they'll never play.

If none of them work, is it not likely the machines that are broken?

I got mine at the supermarket and it worked fine (Both bits, the machine and the DVD, which cost more than the machine).

Have tried it in a Wii now as well! Have tried other DVDs and they work fine. Stumped!!!!

My wife bought the same film from Amazon for mothers day.
Her mother has had the same issue - won't play in their DVD player.

Could be a faulty batch maybe ?

Having seen it your not missing anything, thought it was dreadfully dull and I like bond films but that one was a chore
