Evening
I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30cdi combi boiler. All good there, the only down side is if I ever want to adjust the heating I have to do it on
the front panel of the boiler, which is at the rear of the house in a cloakroom.
What I would like is to have a thermostat mounted in the hall way, which wirelessly controls the boiler.
Can this be added? I have been told it can, and most boilers have the facility to add.
Has anyone done this and can recommend a wireless thermostat?!!
thanks
Andy
I'm a fan of Salus thermostats myself and have done exactly as you need to do with the very same boiler. It's really quite simple, you have to unscrew the control board panel and take out a jumper link which shorts out the external thermostat connections and connect up the wires. I seem to recall the Salus wireless thermostat is about £30. I personally went for a 7 day programmable wired system but only because I was installing the entire CH and electrical system in our house so it was a simple job to run a 2 core cable to the boiler from the thermostat in the living room.
This should do the trick eBay Item I replaced the mechanical clock in mine for a digital one and it was quite easy. This should be
just as easy to do.
Thank you!!
I will have a look at my boiler control panel for the wires and see if I want to try and fit it. Bit nervous of these things as never done
anything.
I assume that there is a part that fits in the boiler which receives the info from the room stat?
Am I thinking right??
yes the existing clock will come out and you replace it with the wireless module
Spot on, thanks
