Electric garage door opener

Hi all i am thinking of buying a door opener for the garage but what i was thinking is what / how would i get in the garage if something goes wrong and the opener stops working .ie power cut
I don't have a side 2nd door

Do any of you have this set up

The one I had included a key that allowed you to manually disconnect the mechanism. You mounted this outside the garage.

Do you know what make of opener it was please it sounds like it may do what i want

In my case this was a few years back. It was a chain drive Chamberlain model (from B&Q).

Not sure same model exists.

The locking mech was like part number 1702EML
On this website.

There is a pdf manual on that site.
Basically drill a hole in the door attach cable to mechanism so that it disconnects the arm if you need to get in when power down.

I think they are pretty standard bits.
