free cad drawing prog

after a cad prog to measure something,i used to have one like etcha sketch but cant find it now,nothing complicated please

I've used stdcad with good results. Some of the others seemed to complicated for me (cad noob).

For 2D drafting, there's Draftsight by Dassault Systemes, which is functionally similar to AutoCAD (but very stripped-to-basics) and produces .dwg and .dxf files that can be read by the majority of software.

For 3D stuff, there's the ubiquitous Sketchup, which is very fun and easy to use, and surprisingly flexible for 3D work, but a dead loss for producing 'proper', 2D orthographic projection engineering drawings.

Agree with Draftsight, also NanoCAD looks good too....both good AutoCAD clones.

For the cost of these (zero) it really is worth taking a little time to learn them rather than looking for something even easier (and much less capable.

tried to download them all,my compo is too old and slow for them apart from cadstd,just trying to get that working
