Central Heating Inhibitor
Surrey Dave - 8/10/14 at 10:28 AM

Fitted my new central heating about 5 yrs ago, haven't replaced the inhibitor since, can I just put a litre of sentinel x100 in?

Or how would I work out how much to put in?

It's a 3 bedroom house , with 7 radiators, Worcester Bosch boiler in loft.

Replies appreciated.

I did mine a couple of weeks ago, and imho its best to drain the system, and get all the crud out,
mine was done a few years ago (by me) and this time I drained it all the water was quite clear, so possibly did not need doing
but once winter starts, it will be peace of mind knowing it should work

Hi, Yes Steve I am going to drain it down but, not clear if the amount you add is crucial or if you can overdo it?

Did you put Sentinel in yours?

Of course you are very sensible and did it while the weather was good!

I put the whole litre in, as from memory it says that's enough for up to 9 radiators, and we have 8

i have drained mine twice over the years. like Steve said it will do up to about 9-10 rads. i just took the top plug out of one of the rads put the whole litre in with a funnel and refilled the system.

just whack the whole bottle in.
