I have to replace a UPVC door handle set, front door, inner & outer handles as the thread has stripped from one of the screw locations
They are a really weird size & setup
Overall length width of the casing is 205 x 30
Locating screw centres are 164mm (poss 163 or 165)
The operating handles are offset, ie one is higher than the other 62pz one side, 92PZ the other
I cannot find anything that matches anywhere, I can find handles with the right offset 62 & 92PZ but they are longer
Q is this, either, does anyone know what I've got & where I can replace
OR if I replace with a longer handle set, how likely is it that if I try to redrill holes for the new screw positions they will foul parts of locking
mechanism - I don't really want to have to strip all the locking mechanism out to find out
Any advice welcome!
Recently had to replace a couple of closing mechanisms on some UPVC windows. Easy enough to strip out, but same as you a bugger to find like for like
replacements. I ended up going back to the company that fitted the windows who were able to supply the correct (OEM) mechanisms.
Do you know either who manufactured or fitted the door?
They may be the people to ask for spares!
Russ have you tried taking the parts to dg supplying on the 127 Southend. I have some old units and they have been able to supply equivalent parts but
also give advice on how to rework.

I had exact same issue about 1 yr ago, ended up driving round various door/window factories with the old handle until I found one that had spares.
Think it was a specialist door handle place that had them, 40 quid for a new pair.
Here is a link if it helps.. maybe give them a call, they were very helpful, my handles were pretty old and not on their website.

No chance of re-tapping the thread - maybe slightly bigger diameter?

I doubt it, there's not much "meat" around those die cast ali threads, if I'm really stuck I guess I could drill thro' & put a length of studding in there with some domed nuts on so it looks pretty
I have a work shop next door to the best double glazing spares place in the country sells all spares for doors ect.if they don't do it.then unlikely to get it anywhere else. I think there called doors and hinges I'll find out get back to you

Unfortunately doesn't look like they do anything like it either, looks like I need to strip out the door mechanism & see if there space to redrill holes further out
how about a self taping screw to replace the bolt

Fill with plastic steel putty, re-drill and re-tap?
