Iv been looking at the Zcars bike engined mini. Thay look pretty smart I was wondering if anyone on here was building one or have looked into them
etc?
Cheers Drew
Is that the one where they supply a roll cage type arrangement that the engine and drive train bolt in to? Had a good look at that at Stoneleigh -
interesting concept!
Donut may be the man to talk to about Mini's. I don't think he has any direct experience of bike powered ones, but he may know someone that
does!
Chris
KB hasn't jumped in yet, but here is his website....
Kimini
I think the bike engine concept is a good one....
opps I just remembered KB is doing a mid engine honda power...
nevermind...
David
Try Richard r1 on this forum
jacko
I know a guy building one round here, but he's not on this forum
I'll email him.
Try "Dreckly" on here he does a space framed mini which i understand can take a bike motor
Car is called the UltiMini
Did you see this posted a few months back
http://www.freewebs.com/mega-r1/mini_index.html
Made by MK?
Adrian
Here's the link to the Ultimini...

Ken will be the first to admit that his website is a little basic, but it's a start. The new chassis he has started working on will be state of
the art. So keep watching his site.

Hurray website online!!!!!! Just needs some pictures now bloke.
Hi,
I emailed Digby, here's his Zcars mini build site:
http://www.geocities.com/drusling/mini/mini_home.htm
He admits: "there isn't much zcars build info on there yet, I'm just taking things apart at the moment." but I'm sure
he'll update it as he builds.
Cheers
Thanks guys
Its just what i was looking for.
Cheers

Bill Sollis who is 3 times Mini Miglia champion tested loads of mini's for a DVD which i have. He drove the Z cars mini and said when he got out
"That's the best f***** thing i have ever driven" or words to that effect!!!
You can make these mini's very light, about 400kg or less!!! and they look great fun!
400?
tell me how..
i want one next yr.. busa powered of course..
dave..
All of the rear floor and seat is removed plus the engine/gearbox which weighs shed loads. I beleive there are space frame front subframes to replace
the mini one which will lighten things a bit too. Light weight race seats, bike dash etc etc, it don't take long!!

how would you get on with emisions at mot time?
as far as i can see you will need at cat etc if you have a modern bike engine...
good thing is though buy an old mini for the logbook.. then use a brand new shell ...that's what i'm thinking of for me next project...
dave..
Do you know how much thay can be built for Donut ??
Im thinking about it myself
Cheers Drew
Busa Rush - you've gotta finish your present project first - and no stuffing it on the first hill-climb just so you can use the engine in a
Z-car....
Petemate
AKA Pops
Erm...no idea of cost but i would estimate about 8K minimum, just under 5k for the roll cage kit, 2k for the engine and all the bits (fuel tank, rad
etc) which leaves 1k for paint and sundries. Decent job, probably looking at about 10-12k if you go for carbon front end, roof and doors plus plastic
windows etc!!

Welcome to the site Digby

Do you know of any specialist which makes a standard Mini convertible? I've seen only one in the flesh here in Spain some years ago and it looked
really nice with a soft top. It also had wider wheel arches.
Cheers,
Alex

Paul Bahnam made a very nice looking mini conversion (as well as some other less great looking cars). The designs were sold to RallySportReplicas
Cabrioni in the Netherlands did cabrios. Still available through Ben van Leeuwen.
The original Rover Cabrio was from a German company
For the ultimate mini check out http://www.spagweb.com/v8mini/

Drew,
Go to this forum:
http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/
In the "Projects" section, there's 2 or 3 guys working on ZCars Mini mods.
I really like the concept but the kit comes at 3404 + vat:
http://www.zcars.org.uk/mini/conversion-minisingle.htm
I would love to see a similar conversion (chain driven), done the Locost way somehow, available in kit form
Cheers,
Alex
Turn key and kit available, here:
http://www.gomini.com/index.htm
Must be RWD because they do 5 secs 0-60, any info?
Cheers,
Alex
Thanks Alex
I joined the mini forum one the build looks good.
Only thing is i was made redundant on wednesday so its on the back burner
Cheers Drew
I absolutly love it, but at the price you could build a similar locost (gts what have you) and it would probably be better

Im loving this thread, although Im a bit of a late comer. I havent finished my current build and I already want a bike engined mini next. Ive seen a
nicer looking speedster though, in Mini World a good 10 years or so ago *I think* when a mini was about all I could afford. It was red and had lots
of chequer plate in it, thats about all I can remember.

Did the MK mini get finished is there any more info or pics
