Google knows. According to Lauren Weinstein, an Internet activist and privacy expert based in Southern California, Google keeps track of every search
that’s made, as well as the Internet location of the computer from which the search is taking place — and then it stores that information for possible
future use. Moreover, he says, it would not be terribly difficult to trace those searches to the person who made them. That’s you and me.

i have nothing to hide,
and i think that many people should think that way,
its a good case that they store that info,
and if i could help i would do, the people that make it nececary to do those are the reason not us..
i have nothing to hide? offcourse i don't like it if they put it in the newspapers what i do but the people that need to know may know it, and
you have to think in big scales and not the only small you,
what would you do if you work for google
and all the searches are ordenen by name
? you will have millions of search info where do you begin? what i want to say is the more info you get the less personal interest you are gonna get
to search who does what...and after 30min the fun is gone..of it because its sooow much information..
it would even bother me if they would spy on the phone line....
its a question of not being afraid of doing something that a small people do, got the point?
even if they could trace illegal coppies of windows would they do something with it?
with miljions of people who are doing it?
know..they will start with small people and bigger stuff...

sorry mango, it just cant be - they've only got 10,000 computers at google. Imagine how much storage space they would need to log IP and search
keywords, for every search made. At the same time as constantly scouring the entire web for new links - and giving gigs away to gmail users!

wouldnt bother me TBH - couldnt care less in fact. What does it matter if someone is listening to a social call? obviously if i was discussing
confidential stuff it would be different, but thats what the bug detector and lead lined room in the basement is for!

and that's the way many people need to think,
as i sead before as long as you do nothing wrong you cant be afrade of cops etc..
its like having a MOT etc.. and driveing normal and the cops show up..soow what..
offcourse when deal drugs using the phone.. then you are gone...
but i think that that happens to much anyway to do something about it..
it are the big things that nog often occour that ones will be caught by the system..

I agree TKS that in many cases the law and order forces must have some tools to fight crime.
If you have nothing to hide,and i'm sure you dont,why not put your name instead of TKS on here.
Location Salamanca-Spain is not exactly an adress that a taxidriver can use to bring you home either.
My only concern is when you start to rely on things too much..............
I often say "its on the internet so it must be true" as we often believe what we see written down.
I know how to fake emails, i don't as i've no need but i know & most developers who've done anything with email will also know.
So..... i could fake an email from one of you to, say, me, threatening to kill me. I take that to the police and you get arrested for threatening to
kill me. Is that right? No, especially when if you dug around a little you'd realise that the email never originated from the computer it claims
to have done.
We've got to stop relying on technology so much and keep old fashioned policing (that doesn't "sorry sargent, he just fell down the
stairs"
