Bit of a surprise, but former Top Gear presenter Sabine Schmitz - famous for being the only woman to win the Nurburgring 24 Hours - has died aged
51
"I can drive faster than you in a van".

Not really a surprise (she's had cancer since 2017) but very sad.
She was a great character
A surprise to me as I didn't know that plus some types are survivable. Would have been less surprising if she was 81.
What a shame, she was a lovely lady
RIP
Didn't know she had cancer.
She seemed to come across well on the TV and skilled at the wheel.
Very sad at just 51 - on that basis I'd have been gone 13 years ago & I've enjoyed most of those .....
Very sad rip
Although ive already posted above,
I know its really silly, but i am quite upset that Sabine has left us, i knew she had cancer, but for how long i didnt know
She was an enigmatic personality, who oozed sex appeal (well for me she did!)
She was quite obviously a very good driver, especially on the ring, and those words of "I can drive faster than you in a van".
will always be in my head, with that fantastic Germanic accent,
She really was a babe, and die at 51, is so desperately sad
Very sad. My son met her on a couple of occasions. Stayed at her parents hotel the last time he was there.
Sad news this and I had no idea she had cancer
She'll be clipping the apex and setting quick lap times in the great race track in the sky
Rest in peace Sabine
2020/1 keeps on kicking eh!
