so I decided to get myself a 'tiny smart phone'
£60 from amazon
I showed it to some friends in the pub, and I said it had been through the wash, hence its shrunken size... they believed me for a few seconds, they
then repeated the myth, to our friends.
then they asked does it work, is it expensive,
and quickly realised people want a phone that is not the size of a brick.

Please tell more. Will it work with whatsapp?

yes it is on the TOY end of the scale, but it means I can leave my phone that does all the banking etc, securely at home.

Are you going in jail wanting a small phone hehe
no, no intention of jail use. [though I may jailbreak the device and put the latest android os on it]
yes it does work with whatsapp, I currently have it as a slave device, so I can leave my main phone on my desk. - it means if someone calls or
messages me via whatsapp both phones ring.
I have it on a cheep '3' data only contract. it is 4g, but not 5g.
it does easily fit/ disappear in a trouser pocket
but the text is tiny, and typing on it challenging.
camera is ok'ish, enough for poor snaps, would never win any prizes.
edit
poor image quality

My biggest gripe for years is how the 90s and 00s we consistently wanted smaller phones, now the market leads us towards basically having tablets in
our pockets. I used to always buy the 'mini' versions of Samsungs galaxy range, but they havent made one in 5 years so im stuck with the
standard versions that are a pain to hold and text with and bulky in my pocket.

Not me, happy with a 7 inch screen. I don't want to need to crack out the glasses to use it, and I have bug hands, I already cramp up using my parents small phones.
