Not raining untypically for Cornwall.

At the mo it's all ok, had loads of snow but it melts as soon as it hit's theground. More snow to come though

DarrenW - 23/2/05 at 05:07 PM

The temp is about 273 up here in the North - Kelvin that is!!! there's blue skies but that normally means its getting cold. Roads were sh1t this morning and my Mondeo (V6) was a total disgrace. If the ZR was finished id be better off driving that!

Jon Ison - 23/2/05 at 05:42 PM

plenty of snow here with more to come, drivin down to Bristol at 5am this morning the outside lanes of the M1 & M42 where white over, once past NEC it was ok.

I looked at the Met Office website the other day... they had a "Severe weather warning" for the east of England... "1 - 3 cm of snow expected".

This is NOT severe weather - 1 - 3 metres of snow is severe!

David

JoelP - 24/2/05 at 08:32 AM

thats what i thought the other week, when on about that cold snap coming from america - up to 5cm of snow! i though thats not enough for a snowball fight, never mind bad driving!

Peteff - 24/2/05 at 09:27 AM

It's 6" deep on our garden now and still coming fast. I've just cleared the table and put water out for the birds and they practically mobbed me to get at it.

At 1-3 mters of snow people stop panicing and driving like fools, 1-3 cm and people don't slow down to cope with conditions and complain when there cars are damaged.

David Jenkins - 24/2/05 at 10:37 AM

Yeah - I heard that they'll do it for peanuts up there...

DarrenW - 24/2/05 at 11:18 AM

I dont know what the fuss is about. I opened my front door this morning and could see down the street no problem if i stood on tip toes. Took the dogs for a walk and tripped over the front gate which is only 5 foot high.
My only complaint is that it is a touch cool - i had to put a long sleeve tee shirt on today. i also had to wear a hat but only so i could be seen.
Is it normal in other areas for the council to be clearing roads with JCB's?? The salt they are using is crap this year, its only burning through the first couple of feet.
