Included is the 77 kyalami video of the most stupid fire marshall in the entire universe that led to Tom Pryce loosing his life in that terrible accident.

The marshall must rate as the thickest ever.

How ever on a lighter note there is some normal stuff http://www.formula1news.it/video1/82-hocken.zip

Some good (and not so good) videos. especially that one of jackie Stewart at Brands! I feel that they've ruined graham hill bend now though.
The on-board shot of the tyrell good too, they make it look so easy!

jackie stewarts lap is missing dingle dell though !!

never seen the old graham hill bend layout before, looks much faster than the new layout. We were there only last weekend and on the gp circuit too which makes a change..

I was thinking the same thing about dingle dell ned! Haven't they changed it now? What were you up to there then?

Is that dave pegley? or the Ex dave pegley car?
If it is my father raced with him or that car for a few years.

Andy

ned - 5/4/05 at 01:29 PM

yep, that's him, he's owned the car about 16 years, just hte first time its ever had a pinto in it!

heres the current graham hill bend layout, a lot later and sharper, in the video of jackie stewart, note how close to the armco the bend is!

I thought I recognised it! My dad raced in the 750mc F1300, which became clubsports 2000 then sports 2000 before the formula died. He was saying he can remember the days when he was racing for position with dave and not being lapped by him
He moved onto national supersports for a while after 750 didn't he?

Andy

(sorry to hi-jack ur thread mango!)

ned - 5/4/05 at 01:48 PM

yep, when 750mc sports 2000 died he ran the lola in national supersports a bit for a year whilst he built the nemesis and then campaigned that fully. we won the championship in 2002, but big budget teams (someone spent £5k on a steering wheel!) ultimately lead to the demise of national supersports which is now mascarading as the 'open sports racing cup' (www.opensportsracingcup.com) though it's all power to weight ratio based classes and throw money at your engine time now - someone has purchased and is going to run an ex-lemans lola !!! others are running 350bhp+ v6 jag (mondeo) engines and someone is putting in a 350bhp bike based v8 and someone else is rumoured to have bought a judd built rover engine..

he might put a duratec in the nemesis and do the sports 2000 pro series next year, but the jury is still out i think..

Ned.

and here's the reprofiled dingle dell:

I don't understand why they insist on doing this to circuits. I know its in an aim to 'slow' the cars but you have to remember that its motor racing and dangerous by definition! Lets just hope that they don't touch Cadwell!

ned - 5/4/05 at 03:27 PM

some interesting info on this site about circuits, i didn't know that donington used to be 3 miles long!

Ned.
