Towing Vehicle
mookaloid - 19/4/05 at 03:25 PM

I was just wondering whether this would be suitable to tow a trailer with my MK Indy on it. I think that's the garage telephone number in the windscreen!

Thoughts anyone?

Took this piccy with my new camera phone - quite impressed

Cheers

There are 4 people at school with those.

Common old things

Theres a stretched one up our way that does weddings etc!!!! Its huge. You wouldnt need a trailer to put a se7en in.

And I bet they have never even seen a mud track, let alone some proper off roading...

One of my pet hates...people who buy 4x4s because they are cool, then use them to do the school run...they should all be banned, except for the Land Rover 90 and 110...proper offroaders

The proper old hummers were a lot better than the new ones....

120?
more like 110 or 130.

4x4's should only be allowed if they are covered in mud and dents (the dents are the most important).

Fortunatly the 4x4's I drive fully comply with that. Park a battered up seires landrover next to any other 4x4 on ther road and the landrover puts it to shame.

well if i had the money i'd buy an x5 (becouse i think they are cool)mainly for going to the shops and towing the busa.
it wouldnt bother me in the slightest knowing that there are people out there annoyed at me becouse its not covered in crap and full of dents,in fact i'd make a sign and have it in the back window saying"if i wanted to go ride in the fields i'd buy a tractor"

Poohhhh a Hu**er... Somewhere I have a piccy of an Army 110 landrover in Bosnia pulling a US Army Hummer out of Axle Deep mud..

Too BIG and Too Heavy. Too much Fuel Comsumption as well.

The Landy is bad enough!. (26Mpg diesel)

Mine has dents and is used mainly ON roads!. Always dirty, and much loved by me. Its a load lugger, tows whatever I hang on the back, the roof rack takes what ever I cant stuff inside. That includes 2 double beds complete with matresses, or the 30ft tree...
Wouldnt be without it!

An interestin point on road safety, did any body see the 5th gear when they where driving cars into dummys.

With the saloon car, dummy's head hit the wind screen before being thrown over the car and hitin the ashfelt.

With the range rover (old one) and dummy facing the car, the grill/bumper evenly hit the legs whalst the upper body folded down neatly over the top of the bonnet.

Just goes to show you could servive anthing and die from the least likely of things.

Like MX5's and hair dressers is it possible for 4x4 to be fashionably cool unless you are......

1 pimp
2 soccer mum
3 drug dealer
4 farmer
5 sexually insecure?

Sorry just breaking off into one of my rants about middle classes again.

Seriously know, 4x4's are 1 usefull and 2 not as at bad polluting or taking up space as they are perceved to be. 3 they have a very good driving position.

Having had far too many X5 owners treating the roads like they own them and no-one else should dare use them when the X5 is out I came to the conclusion that anyone walking into a BMW dealership and asking to buy one should instantly have their driving licences taken from them never to be returned again.

maby just teaching they how to use indicators would be enough, oh and limiting them to under 80mph.

Trouble is they think that if they put their indicators on it means they have total right of way. Been squeezed out many a time by them - refused to move over when I was driving my old car having bought a replacement, thinking that if I got hit it would cause him more suffering thatn me as the car was pretty worthless anyway - the X5 driver was incredibly upset about it, so much so he obviously wanted to stop and "talk" about the issue

clbarclay - 20/4/05 at 11:01 PM

Never asume you have right of way.
Either that or drive old 4x4's.

A neighbour turing right off a main road olny need oxy-acetaline and sledge hammer to fix landrover bumper. Fool over taking from half a dozen cars back had nothing left of the near side of his hatch.

That'll teach them over aggresive drivers. Either slow down or the car will abruptly slow down.

To quote Jimmy Carr.....
