Can anyone get a Pirate copy of Inventor 5.3 or 6. I have recently started to use it and its soooo good. Was using Mechanical 2000, but this is wonderful. Problem is I don't get enough time at work to use it, so I would like a copy in the house.

youre not going to easily get a pirate copy, the protection software is very good. there arent many people who crack software like this, they all go into the games.

anyway, we were going to use inventor but we chose solid edge at work, much better. autodesk has only been in the 3d game for a short while and are still learning. solid edge has been in the biz for ages.IMHO of course.

also you need a faptastic computer if you want to model anthing of moderatly large.

How many cops can use 2D, let alone 3D. I see what you been but I'm not. I've got a pirate copy of Solidworks, but I find Inventor much more user friendly. Probably because I've had some training but I found Solidworks awkward to produce drawings from the model. I thought Solid edge was more involved in the CAM side, but I can't comment as I have never used it. We did trails on Inventor and Solidworks and every one involved preferred Inventor.

I know good 3d CAD sytle packages are thousands of pounds and beyond the pocket of the home user. Just shhhhhh for everyone's benefit
