Orlando, Florida for winter sun
skydivepaul - 7/11/05 at 11:05 PM

I thought I might try a post on here to see if anyone is interested in renting out my villa for a bit of nice Florida sunshine
10 minutes from Disney land with a private screened pool, games room with X box, DVD player and pool table. Will comfortably take 4 adults and 4 kids although we advertise the villa as a 3 bedroom as the fourth is a games room with a double sofa bed.

We rent the villa out year round and we have a gap to fill from the 12th November to the 10th December. I am happy to give a decent discount for Locostbuilders members and family, please take a look on our website and drop me an email if you are interested paul@blueskiesvilla.co.uk

Hi Paul,

Looks like a lovely place you have there.

As I'm too lazy to look prices up, what's the sort of cost for flights at that time of year?

Cheers,
James

Thanks for the comments
Prices should be between £250.00 - £500.00 return depending who you fly with. Virgin and BA direct to Orlando international will cost more than a charter flight to Sanford or an indirect flight with one of the US airlines, try US airways or air Atlanta. If you dont mind going a bit round the houses and are flexible you can get a real bargain flight this time of year.
Try e bookers and dial a flight on the net to get you started then call charter travel 01635 254077 and tell them what you have found on the net. They are very good and will usually match or beat any price. Try to be flexible with the dates you want to fly and you'll get a great deal. We have just been in October and paid £350.00 each which is good for half term.
I have just checked the weather and its 85 degrees and sunny for today and the rest of the week and the theme parks are quiet this time of year.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!!!

Alan, Where abouts are you in Florida?
Our place is about 6 miles south of Clermont on the US27. We just got back last week after a short visit and we were there when Wilma came over. My timing is usually rubbish Lucky though we only got a few days of bad weather

IIRC Alan is somewhere near to Lake Ochekobee (sp?)

3 months too late for me too - ive booked September - a villa in kissemee/lake davenport area.

We're about an hour from z Hills, 1/2 hour from lake wales, 1 1/2 hours from skydive space centre and a couple of hours from sebastian. Florida is bloody fantastic for skydiving isnt it. Great weather, great DZ's and great planes.
As a semi retired sky god , I still get excited about the thought of jumping. I still check the weather and wind direction most days just in case. Havent jumped for 18 months now and with my motorsport sorted for next year and another little 'un on the way it will probably be another 18 months before i'm up again.

Where did you jump?

I started out at Hibaldstow but moved on to Brid to get my CAT8 and did most of my fun jumping from there. Jumped over at Wild Geese in Ireland that was a good laugh but Florida has got to be the place. I've only jumped at Sebastian and Lake Wales a couple of times, but the freedom of jumping in shorts, T shirt and Oakleys is brill. I know you should always wear a helmet but it was nice to jmp without for a few times.

Did my first jump at Ipswich back in 83 Then was a regular at Pampisford just outside Cambridge until it closed Did a few at Cranfield , Swansea , Langar, Sibson ,Tilstock and a few other places Belguim ,France and Spain but never got to Florida, bit like a Muslim never going to Mecca I suppose . Last Jumped about 10 years ago at Chatteris .Suppose I just grew out of it.
