Just checked out the Ronart website. The W152 is one cool looking car. Maybe try one of those next time. The Lightning is in XK180 territory though.
There's also a couple of club sites too.

Probably a stupid question but what's an XK180?
Love the Lightning actually- pity I don't have a spare £50K plus options tho!
It reminds me slighly of the Maclaren F1 actually- cheap in comparison come to think of it.
Hmmmm, that's got me thinking.... I take it no one knows of anyone doing a Maclaren F1 kit do they?
Wonder if I could get a pattern for the body-panels anywhere....
James
Those Ronart W152 pictures don't give any indication of that car's size - it's a huge vehicle!
Must weigh a ton or two...
Seen a pic of the W152 going round a track tailed by a 7, did look slightly larger but it wasn't that bad. Don't like the arse on the thing though but
the nose is smart. Exhaust is a tad ott.
Don't have Maclaren F1 body kit but what about patterns for a jag xj220?
The XK180 was a prototype that jaguar developed a few years ago using a shortened XK8, they showed it at a few car shows but finally bowed to public
pressure and are now going to make it in a facelifted version and call it the F type. The original was much better.
Hmmm, maybe I could base the F1 on MK's mid-engined chassis they've now got pictures of on their site. To power it all I'd need to do would be to get
a couple of BMW M3 engines and weld them together end to end- no problemo!
Might be hard fitting in the 3 seat configuration but hey, if Gordon Murray can do it- anyone can!

In fact I can see money to be made with businesses doing this.
First- The book:
Build you own Hyper-Car for less than £250,000!
or
Putting the Low back in McLocostF1
or something....
errr....think I may have just gone completely mad- sorry!!!
:-)

You're not going to belive this, but I'm currently drawing some plans for a Mclaren F1 replica, with a BMW V12, porsche transaxle and Granada
hubs!!!
Cheers

Chris you drawing that in crayon?
I'm using a burnt stick!
When the plans are finished you will be the second to know, James (after the bloke who's paying me to draw them!)
Cheers

Going back to the Ronart, have a look at the front end and figure what kind of turning circle it must have. The design does not allow for a decent
amount of steering lock, the bodywork behind the front wheels is much too wide.

I know of someone that is building a McLaren F1 with a BMW V12, carbon fiber body, chromoly chassis which is half the weight of steel, and all dimensions are exact.
I'd take you up on that offer but the Mc doesn't even have a radio, what kind of shite is that. I think I'll make my own, carbon fibre's out of fashion these days, so I'll make it out of Dunctanium Alloy Metal Matrix, to help keep the weight down to half a tonne. And it won't have that poncy steering wheel in the middle for better handling and weight distribution, how can you see to overtake?!. Sorry but my steering wheel will be on the right as I tend to be overtaking lots on B roads, a sack of tatties on the passenger seat will help weight distribution.
guys i'd be in on this McLaren replica thing- i really hanker after the real thing, but i can't justify selling the house!
a guy in the usa's doing something, but having some difficulties at the moment... and he's using a big v8, which just seems wrong..... he's very good,
but charging a lot of money, i can afford it but i don't want to buy his v8
got any other ideas? i'm sure the whole thing can be done for less that 80 grand
