Exspensive Spark Plugs

Thought some may be interested in this.

The plug costs about £400, with the sensor fitted in it the price goes up to about £2000 
The complete assembly looks like this

The sensor measures the pressure in the combustion chamber while the engine is running.
A lot of manufacturers use these for engine development.
One of the F1 teams would like them to last more than one dyno run. Imagine wrecking 10 of these at a time
Me? I just get to calibrate the survivors

I was in the bike shop the other day when someone came in for some for a Ducati at £48 each. That put me off buying one.

God knows why - most motorcycle plugs cost exactly the same to make.

Wwith a duke you only need half as many plugs as most bikes so they charge twice as much
