AVONEER - Where are you???
Avoneer - 17/12/05 at 12:39 AM

Just in case anyone has sent me a U2U and I haven't replied yet, or are getting worried about the DigiDash2 order etc:

My 3 week old baby was rushed into hospital on Monday morning with severe breathing dificulties and put on a ventilator etc.

Me and my wife have been "living" at the hospital since Monday with me only popping home to check the mail etc.

Millie (my daughter) is a bit more stable today and has come of the ventilator, but still needs oxygen to help her breath and is still being fed through a tube.

I even missed the Locost xmas doo!

Tis the season to be jolly, falla-boloc-la.

Suspected whooping cough, but she is too little to have developed a coughing reflex so chokes herself and goes blue.

I wasn't that worried till the doctor said 1 in 200 die from it!

Oh dear... poor little mite (she looks gorgeous by the way). It is so very worrying when they are so small and can't tell you what is wrong.
I spent many a worrying time at the local A&E when one of my sons was that little, he suffered from croup. He grew out of it and is a strapping lad of 31 now.
Here is wishing her a very speedy recovery, and all the very best to you and mrs pat.
ATB Fozzie.

kipper - 17/12/05 at 09:12 AM

best wishes Patrick.
I remember when my lad was that size, we had a lot of trouble getting the mixture for the infeed correct, and the emissions were way of what was normal.
I also thought the valve that controlls the emissions was faulty and we had to employ a thing called a nappy untill the lad was nearly two years old.
The noise that he made would have him failing the SVA noise test.
He grew up to be a big boy and nearly bankrupted us on the way.
Hope the little one get's better soon and you and you better half can get some rest.
Regards Kipper

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery mate. Have a good Christmas despite this, I'm sure she'll be fine. We used to think our daughter had whooping cough when she was tiny, but she's nearly three now and still coughs like a consumptive when she gets a cold. Saps her energy a bit but doesn't slow her down

andrew.carwithen - 17/12/05 at 01:26 PM

Sorry to hear about your little'un Pat. Try not to worry too much - babies are a lot tougher than you think!
I'm sure she'll be fine.
Hopefully, she'll be home for Christmas.
Good lookin' gal by the way - which is surprising considering what dad looks like!!

Andy.

House is a mess after a week in hospital and coming home and dumping things and grabbing other things.
