I have a compaq PDA 3800 266Mhz 64MB ram with a 128Mb SD card. I was going to buy a tomtom1 but have been thinking about using the PDA for the sat
nav. I only use it as a posh calender and address book at the minute so none of the memory has been used up.
Has anyone used these for satnav and are they any good. I have been given tomtom maps for the PDA on a CD so i only need the cradle and GPS
receiver.
I saw this on e bay
linky.
Any comments or ideas would be appreciated

I use a laptop, Autoroute and a GPS mouse similar to the one in your link and it all works well.
I've not used it with a PDA but I've seen a few of them and it seems to work well
Lots of info here if you have not found it already
Cheers
Alex
I used to use my 3850 with a GPS jacket and it worked very well with both TomTom and Navman.
I used a windscreen mount as the unit is quite heavy and will break the air vent mounts.
I have since bought a Navman 520 because I found that I was only using the Compaq for GPS work and the dedicated units crash less frequently and
generally do the job with less fuss.

I also use TomTom on a 3850 - works brilliantly.
You'll probably need a 256Mb card to get all the maps on though.

You'll be fine with that setup....
Just noticed the price is rather high - you might want to look on eBay for cheaper options (also self powered)
