Hurrah, going on hols this summer, should be a trip to remember, an "unusual" destination!
Siberia!
Going to Barnaul, and the Altay mountains? in July.
Starting to practice the Borat impressions now, it's pretty close to Khazakstan!
Always have wanted to go the russia, and the opportunity has arisen so I'm pretty enthusiastic now!
Just looking at the flights (Birmingham - Brussels - Moscow - Barnaul!!) and noticed that flights may terminate in Novosibirsk if weather precludes
landing at Barnaul, as there is no ILS or Radar there! mmmmmmm interesting!
The area looks beautiful though!

Heh heh this one give an idea of the scale! don't see road signs like this over here!!!!
Beautifull looking. Me and the misus are planning to do a short break in the red country near the end of the year. As long as I dont wee on my money away on cars.
I'm doing the Disney Florida bit in 4 weeks time YAY! Can't say 8 hours on a Jumbo Jet with a 9 year old and a 7 year old is something
i'm looking forward too
Still it will be worth it
and the SUN IS GONNA SHINE!!!!

Landscape looks very much like the Canadian rockies (especially that 3rd photo) in which case you should have a great time if you are into
hiking/mountain climbing.
Not too sure about the final leg - Aeroflot?
Much better than disneyland IMO

Aeroflot: still flying planes (note; NOT aircraft) built in the 1970's!
Still, if you do make it there you'll have loads of fun. Esp. if you like vodka
My wife was killed in a farming accident
Oh, I'm very sorry to hear that.
No, it's alright, I have another one now.
.
Have you watched 'The long way round' with Ewan Mcgregor and Charlie Boorman? Well worth a watch as they travel that area on BMW bikes.
I've been to MOSCOW plenty of times its great ;-)
As for phrases:
Kruto = cool
Spasiba = thank you
Poka = bye
Privet = hello
Polny Piez Dietz Blyad = a very, very, very bad word!
The women are sensational looking, people very friendly (contrary to popular belief), food is all fresh - very envious
Looks stunning almost as beautifull as Scotland. Only downside is no whisky

Looking at the pictures and I can almost hear the sound of silence. So what is it hiking or moantain/rock climbing? I hope you really enjoy it.
Cheers Omega!
Bit of hiking, bit of drinking, we're spending some time in the city too so bit of as mixed bag of stuff to do.
Love Scotland too by the way. Once the locost is up and running I'll be trying to see some more of it. I Make the pilgrimage to Mull for the
rally in October every year, the drive from Crianlarich to Ballachulish is one of the best I know, stunning!!
