Erm... anyone know how?
I've got some new wipers I want to fit before MOT but can budge the old ones.
They are the "hook" variety and I believe all that's needed is a tug to release them but I've tugged to near breaking point and
don't want to bend the wiper arms.
Are there any release clips that I'm missing? It would help if I could raise the wipers more than a few inches from the windscreen but due to
the "styling" alas the bonnet is in the way.
If nobody can offer any "miracle solution", my next attempt will involve some kind of attack of the plastic holder to break it off.
Can you get better access to the blade with the bonnet open?
I found this once on a mates car.

On some there's a hole underneath and a lock tab on the plastic insert so you need a thin screwdriver to release it. A spot of WD might help.
Could have a pair of "ears" at the end of the arm that just need releasing to allow blade to slide out or sometimes you need to compress the clip to release them . Normally a five second job.
ISTR there is a tab. Its damned annoying isnt it, that they dont lift up with the bonnet shut. Makes it an arse getting all the snow off on summer
mornings
Thanks guys. I'll have a bash with the lid open to see if I can see more underneath the arm. Stupid french car!
Undo the 13mm nut holding the arm on (it has stop on the bottom of the arm assembly to stop the arm being raised enough to remove the blade) and remove the whole arm, remove blade in comfort then refit arm to car and tighten nut.
Don't take the arm off the spindle without first putting a locking pin through the hole on the wiper arm by the pivot, do this with the arm
lifted away from the screen. This makes removal easier if it's not seized be carefull as screens break easy.
You should be able to remove the wipers from the arms by rotating the locking clip 90 degrees they do break though wd40 might help. Try looking at the
new ones to see if they're the same.
I've found with the hook type before that some mupped has clamped up the hook with some pliers or something making it damned near impossible to
just pull out the wiper blades. Is the hook return parallel to the main arm if ya know what i mean? I've had to tweak bent hooks out straight
with pliers before.
