You are absolutely correct, AC did indeed make them. They also used to make small trains that you used to see at the seaside giving trips along the sea front. Hastings still run one but i don't know who built it.

there used to be 3 of them (one in each colour) at the Romans garage on the a217 near banstead, they didnt have enough room in the show room so it was left out on the street. (they had a merc slr and a carrera gt in at the same time)
