Finished SVA'd Indys have sold on here for less than £5K.

If I were spending that amount, I'd want to view the cars before committing myself. The first Sylva is registered as a Ford, which may not be
correct, and you might find that the car has to be put through SVA at some point in the future.
Take your time and choose carefully.

Thanks guys, so at 6'2" a Sylva might be a squeeze then? If I can get a pinto MK for less than £5k I will hold on as I am in no rush. I was drawn to the first Sylva as it looked fairly genuine, but the SVA question crossed my mind.
Theres no way that first one has a 1.6L block bored to 2L... and as has already been said if its still registered as an escort its wrong, and you will
likely get pulled up for it.
The second one looks to be a better car. But I wouldnt pay that much without a closer inspection!
theres been some decent cars on here for around £3500 just recenty I'd hang on to your money and see what turns up.
As above really. The second car looks OK, but you have to see any car in the flesh before committing.
The first one must be wrongly registered - it is clearly not a Ford, and to be tax exempt it would have to have an original chassis from before
1 Jan 73, not just use parts from a pre-73 car. Avoid it unless you are prepared to get it properly registered and, probably, SVAd

I hadn't but it is £1k over my max budget and it's a Tiger to which (and I could be wrong, but based on other threads in the chassis
section) the MK is superior.
Otherwise I nice looking package though I agree.
same same really, i personally have nothing against the tiger, notone of the best but not the worst, i'm sure the owner might even do you a deal
on the price..
dont forget the indy is only going to be as good as the builder...... so best not buy mine lol
Regarding registration of the Sylvas...
The 1972 'L' reg. car certainly does say Ford Escort on the logbook. The vendor has obviously used ebay's system wherby you fill in the
Reg. and it does the rest.
However....
It also defines the car as a Sports / Convertible. So - it all indicates that the car has gone through the old pre SVA registration procedure. If
there are old MOts and he can prove that the car has existed as it stands for some time now, having the logbook changed is no longer an issue.
This is a very nice Westfield. It's a narrow bodied car, but as long as you aren't wide as well as tall you'd be ok.
I'd hang in there until something good comes along. There is usually a shortage of good cars (suitable for tall people) that are under £5k at
this time of year but give it a few months and they appear.
My wide bodied Westfield 1.8 Zetec may be up for sale soon ((assuming that I can live with a slow TVR) and £5k would secure that.

Regarding the size of Sylvas (knew I had forgotten something).
My old sylva was one of the best I have ever had regarding a small car fitting a large driver. ( There's an extended footwell on the
driver's side).
I'm 6'2" and fit easily. I can't say that about a book locost.
That's why I've bought another Sylva :-)

Ok, as you will see above I am really in the market for an MK, but spotted this on ebay and it looks like a tidy package which is close enough to me
to have a look at over the weekend before offering. Thoughts on SVA and size (I am 6' 2" ) much appreciated as well as unleaded petrol

A few more details - the engine is a 120BHP 1700 xflow vulcan, it SVA'd a couple of years ago and the engine has done 10k since build. Anyone
any thoughts?
