Or living under a permanent rain cloud.............

All this talk of drought and here I am still looking out at rain and seem to have been doing so for weeks, getting naff all done on the car, pretty much all the jobs I have too do mean working on it outside due too lack of space in the garage.......

Drought ? Explain ?

It's a con. It's so they can bump the price of your domestic water bill up!!

I can only echo your thoughts Jon. Any work I do is outside - I have to roll the car out of the garage to do anything (wide car, narrow garage) and I've been in and out like a fiddler's elbow this weekend ........ good excercise I suppose

I was only talking about this very thing, this morning! Around here we have a few 'natural' ponds, usually they are indicative of a water shortage, as they naturally get lower and have indeed dried up.
We went past 2 of these ponds yesterday, and guess what? Yep, full to overflowing! And....this is the south east where the water shortage is supposedly worst!

Yep, this water shortage type of weather has stopped me working on the car the whole weekend if this is a droubt, I'd hate to see it rain properly !!

the only way to find out for sure would be to visit various southern reservoirs to see how full they are, obviously up north its pish wet through but we are favoured up here

Fozzie - 21/5/06 at 08:48 PM

Yep would agree with you Joel. I live in sight of 2 large reservoirs, but they are built high above ground, and off limits to the public!

In times of need, the governing water company for this area draws water off the Thames, and in parts, the level is quite high, so not much of a problem there!

Knowing British run companies, it's probably the wrong type of water

zxrlocost - 21/5/06 at 09:49 PM

no its because your all speaking to simple major companies dont speak simple if they cant do it awkward they dont do it at all

also we used to have GREAT engineers

these days they call a bloke who fixes TV's or pipe leaks an engineer!

we cant even relay parts of roads any more without it looking like patchwork bumps

other countries will overtake due to our greed!

when the last water shortage here in Yorkshire was ongoing,(remember the water tankers bunging the roads up)
I was working for Yorkshire water.
We built a pipeline from the north keilder resevoir to Elvington water treatment works using some waterways and rivers as conduits.
As far as I know it was never used as the different water would harm some crayfish on the way.????????????
Is it me?
