Being as I'm an inveterate cheapskate I resent paying £60 for summat I can make meself, especially if it isn't a device requiring rocket
science-levels of technological understanding!
So, does anyone own a towbar-mounted bike rack, the sort with the bracket that bolts between the towball an it's mounting plate? If so,
could/would they take a couple of piccies and jot down some dimensions (including tube sizes & gauges) so's I can 'ave a bash at fabbing
one up please?
Cheers
Why not go down Halfrauds and take a tape measure and a camera.
Why didn't I think of that
Don't they tend to keep theirs boxed?
Open the box and say you want to see the size and quality. But I bet they have one on display.
If I can find it I may have one going very cheaply. Only used once. will look tomorrow if your interested
Browser give me 20 mins to work out how to scan and post a sketch and I'll let you have the dimensions from mine.Cheers, Pewe
Thanks Rusty Nuts, would deffo be interested as long as it'll take four bikes.
Thanks Pewe, please send 'em incase Rusty can't find his rack (oo-er missus!)
Will go up into the loft tomorrow and find it for you . If it's any help hope to go to the Peterborough locost meet in Thorney on Monday
Managed to find the rack but not the mounting, have got another plate to fit between the ball and the towbar that would need 2 small bits of angle welded on . Still hope to go to locost club meet tomorrow , will need directions or postcode if you still want rack .
Browser ,you have u2u
You have one back mate
I've now got meself a bike rack, courtesy of Rusty Nuts. Might I take this opportunity to say that he's a top bloke and I'd recommend
dealing with him to anybody.
