Neuros MPEG4 Recorder

Was wondering if anyone owns or has used one of these little gadgets. Have a friend who is thinking about buying one for his microlight, so I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone had any experience with 'em.

I've been using a bullet camera and camcorder for a while and will probably get the Neuos soon as well. I've got an ally box to protect the camcorder but its a bit bulky. The big plus of my Sony camcorder is the LANC port so I can use a handy remote button to start/pause/stop the recording.

I like the idea of the Neuros recording when the bullet camera is switch on as I've got a rechargeable lith Ion battery pack with a switch on it. So that could act as my remote switch!

Theres a much better demo clip on Fastfilms web site as they sell it. Thats also where I buy a lot of my mounts and accessories.

At the moment the auto record only works once, Nueros are currently working on a fix.
You also have to take it out of standby with the remote after turning the power on.
This frustrates me as my plan was to have 2 dash switches, one to turn mine on and one to turn on the camera when I want to record.

There is a way round this that's been developed by a couple of guys on the support forum , but I'm not sure when it will be available.

Martin.

ermm...how do you know what you are recording with no screen? ie whether the camera is vertical or tilted on an angle?

Use a camcorder to set it up, then don't move it.

Not used one, but read the specs a while back, they were poor resolution and limited (15 i think) fps.

As somebody pointed out on a new thread earlier today, check what your digital camera can do as you can get good results from them. OK the one in the example was a 7MP one capturing at VGA 30fps (or is capable of) but you never know till you try.
