I have a pug 306 with a broken handbrake cable, how do you detach the cable at the wheel end?


any help most apretiated

ps. getting married on sat, at mother in laws, left haynes manual at home. need handbrake running......hmmmph

discs or shoes at the rear if it.s discs easy unclip from caliper if its shoes remove drum remove shoes and strip that way cable normally needs a little tap to remove from drum back plate

the outer apears to be attached to a plate, and the inner goes through and clips onto the lever on the caliper. how do i get the outer off. or can i replace just the inner?

should be a circlip or e clip around the outer cable this will ned to be removed first then the cable will probably be seized into the housing use a drift to tap it out or call the aa/rac they can sometimes replace the inner cable as a temporary repair only helps if your in the aa/rac though
