best way of removing paint scratches
locoboy - 9/7/06 at 02:21 PM

Hi

Whilst driving the tin top I got forced up the verge on Friday by some old bat on a country lane and as a result of my interction with the hawthorn hedge i have some nice scratches down the side of the car.

I had to get that far into the hedge that i have managed to scratch the bonnet about 18 inches in from the edge!

whats the best way of 'polishing' them out and whats the best stuff to use?

Next time im not at fault i will not avoid the impending wing mirror to wing mirror collision and stand my bloody ground.

Daft old bat just carried on driving as if nothing had happened.

If they're just surface scratches and not deep and down to basecoat, then brasso works a treat. like a very light T-cut. then re-wax it.

what would work well if you had scratched it down to the white undercoat?
