anyone got a mill?i have a cunning plan and would like to know if it will work, even if you dont have one but know their capabilities it would be helpfull
I've got a pepper mill what do you want it for?
Have a rought idea...
What do you want to know?
One of the endorsements on my apprenticship papers says miller but that was a long time ago.
I also have 30ish years of experience.
its top secret so ssssssssssssssssssssh
ive got an inlet manifold for a zetce with webbers here, borrowed from bob,my plan is to cut away the plates where the carbs bolt on at an angle so the
ends are at 90 deg to the inlet pipes then make the holes a tad bigger so the throttle bods fit inside newly made hole.
can it be done and why wont it work?
and no a pepper mill wont do the job, tried that earlier
no problems with doing it if there is enough metal in the manifold.
Vibration will be an issue, though - IIRC the ITBs need to be rubber mounted like carbs.
As stated the machining is not a problem as long as there is enough material.
Regarding the vibration issue I could not tell you if this would be a problem.
I don't see why it should be as a single throttle body system is solidly mounted to the plenum chamber and the injectors solidly mounted in the
ports.
AFAIK Jenvey bodies are solidly mounted.
Unless anyone has any other ideas I would say it should be ok.
Check out haydns pics aka VanHaydn aka hotshot beans.
Dont know if he finished them before selling them.
ok cheers for that chaps, looks like enough metal for this to happen, its one of fords finest so vibes i wont worry about.
look at hot shots pics, need some tube/hose as well as machining so my way would seem simpler?
so who wants to do the job and how much?
John
If you want a milling machine
