I have now done 200 miles and find that i get knackered after a drive. I think it's down to the wind rushing past my head and the zorst noise by
my ear.
Would fitting a screen and side screens make a huge difference as it's not enjoyable driving my car? I'm having the same problems that lead
me to sell my last one.
I have a screen ready to fit but just want to know if the swap will make a big difference to driving comfort.

Oh no, here we go again!!

if you want comfort go buy another mx5 you panzy :p
Ask Bob, yes it makes a load of difference , it's just a bit of a pain to do , although somebody is selling s/screens for the Indy I believe.
Even in light rain you can kind of hide behind the screen.
Can't shift the exhaust though ! , it's joined to the engine Andy!!
I'm sure a screen n' that will do and no it's not "Oh no, here we go again!! " !!

How about a full-face helmet and some earplugs? Have you tried earplugs on their own?
David
Don't be silly Andy !!

Don't want to wear a crash helmet or ear plugs.
Dave: No not a zetec. Thinking xflow
Andy,
just incase you haven't realised, but a v8 typically has exhaust pipes both sides
on a practical/helpful note perhaps you should make up a heat shield for the silencer!

The best thing that I have bought are the side screens. Stop most if not all buffeting, but you will need a screen.
You'll still get buffeted with a screen, it'll just hit you in the side of the head instead lol
Though with screens it does cut it out as I found on my old car. Found them rather restrictive elbow room wise though, but it was a narrow body.
Sidescreens DO make a huge difference, and will provide the sort of driving experience it sounds like you're looking for from a Seven.
If you like, next time there's a meet at Newlands, you're welcome to take mine for a spin to see how they improve things. Mind you, if the
weather stays like it is now, the sidescreens will probably be back home in the garage....!
Geoff.
the screen will make a massive difference, you will need some sort of side screens though. My car has windscreen and little doors so when you on a
long drive (le Mans) is really comfy with a bit of wind on the back of you head. Still got the speed on tap, can sit at 70mph without the wind trying
to pull your head off.

Cheap and easy possible solution... set of foam earplugs?
Proper ear defenders?
Helmet?
Cheers,
James
I have just fitted these to my aeroscreened car, and find they make driving without a helmet much more pleasant at speed. They look very nice too. I have posted some tips on fitting them with a few pictures on my web here.
Phil was kind enough to take me for a blat at the weekend and his side screens seemed to reduce buffeting along with his sexy aeroscreen. having been
in a couple of cars with full screens etc i think once you get the screens fitted it will be vastly improved Andy.
Ned.
Phil were you at the surrey westfield meet the other week at the parrot?
Car looks fammiliar

Ned, i think you're right. I went out today and drove like a pansy (Normal road speeds!!) and even that was much better. A full screen and some side protection i think is the way to go.
Yep. I was there. But didn't have me luverly side screens then.

cool thought it was but wasn't 100%
Used to be my local area when I had me pre-lit, but still like to pop along
That was a really nice evening. I'll probably come down next month if the weather's as good, so could have a chat then.
I have no screen at all, not even an aero screen.
At low speed its nice, at anything over 70mph, the wind pushes your head backwards, and makes my neck and shoulders ache. 120Mph... borders on the
very uncomfortable, although the force is head on with virtually no buffeting.
I have a full face helmet for longer / faster journeys, and this cuts the wind noise considerably, and is also a bit more comfortable.
An Aeroscreen correctly fitted will lift the Gale to just above your head, relieving a lot of the pressure.
A Full Windscreen will give side buffeting, but can be greatly reduced with side screens, or side deflectors.
At the end of the day driving a 7 is like driving a very stable motorcycle.
Fast, exciting, with bags of performance and handling to match.
You get that "wind in your hair" feeling, and its a BLAST (Caps intentional)
I also think that you get "forced induction" to your lungs, especially without a windscreen. I get very tired driving my Viento. However the
grin factor outweighs any downside.
I think its almost like a day at the seaside... that Sea air makes me very tired, and I wonder if there is anything like different oxygen / more of
it, causing the tiredness.
just my 2d worth.

Just out of curiosity, how tall are the people that have an aeroscreen andf have the air stream goiugn over their head? Mine hits square in the middle of my helmet. Can't get above 35 without going blind.
I'm 5'11" and long in the body with short fat stubby legs so i sit quite high.
The exhaust note is an easy one to fix.
Fit a pair of standard bike cans.
Jon Beadle borrowed my T/Ace can for his c/flow SVA.

After going out today i have decided that the zorst is fine. It's the wind that i need to tackle. I'm going to fit a screen and side screens
so thanks to everyone for your help.
