Remember your talking too a pc numpty here.

Problem..............

Got 2x ipods, one our lass, one my sons, got I tunes installed on pc, now then how do you separate what goes onto which ipod ? Making sense ?

As I see it so far we only have one library, we can have lots of different folders in the library, ie we named one Junes and one Neals, but whenever or whichever ipod you plug in it loads all the folders in the library onto the ipod........

There as too be a simple way of doing this but its beyond all of us, basically how do I select "Junes" folder and load that onto her ipod without loading everything else in the library too.

Simple answers please, I refer you too my opening line.

Eeeerrr...

I imagine you have to have two libraries, and associate a different pod with each library. Possibly. Might have a little look, but only got one pod to play with...

Add 2 playlists, name them differently (one for son & one for daughter) and copy the songs into the right playlist, then add ipod and go to correct playlist. copy list into ipod that shows as a device on the left. heat for 30 mins on gas mark 6 and serve with a light salad and a crisp chilled white wine.

You need to set the ipods to manual. Otherwise it will copy everything in the library. Doing it that way you can choose which playlists are updated.

It's been so long since I've used itunes as I find it really clunky and annoying. I much prefer anapod, it's so much easier to copy music on and does so much other cool stuff http://www.redchairsoftware.com

You need to de-select the auto update bit. Otherwise when ever you attach any Ipod, it'll wipe it's memory and replace it with whats on your pc. When the Ipod comes up on the list on the left, right click on it and somewhere (properties?) is a bit for this. You need to select Manually manage updates, or something similar. Then attach the wanted Ipod and manually update with the playlists. These may need to be split into two completely seperate libraries. Not too sure on this bit, as I have a mac, and the software may be slightly different.
Must learn to type faster!

I just set up two accounts on my PC, one for each iPod. Store all you music in one place then just import what you want into each library for each iPod. Works fine and is an easy solution.
