What is going on with robin hood cars ? I though they were the biggest seller ?

They are starting up the business again with the same staff, new owners and are being branded as Great British Sportscars.

Since the excentric Richard Stuart sold up it has stumbled along, the lightweight has some issues and the new fully independant "Hood" has yet to make a full apperance. It seems that the previouse Venture capitalists have asset stripped the company and the new owners have to lease the site and all the tooling, they only own the name and the plans for the cars. Just like Rover, not an illegal move on the part of the money grabbing capitalist bast**ds just imoral.
I was chatting to the inspector at my SVA last week and it seems that VOSA have a fairly dim view of Robin Hood.
I can't see why people build them as they can't be much cheaper than a basic Indy or Mac 1.

I think Robin Hood is a state of mind rather than a desire to build the best car in the world - kinda like Locostbuilders and Alfa Romeo owners.
They're built by enthusiasts, usually with previous RH knowledge (blinkered?).
They are very much like us really, and the Club scene is second to none - witness the numbers at Stoneleigh and Newark!
It's a shame the manufacturers don't seem as keen though.
They used to pride themselves on being THE budget 7 - a title taken by Locost in recent years, so they're slightly in the wilderness at the
moment as you can do better for less.
I hope the new owners have something special up their sleeves or the RH die hards will slowly fade away.

They could do a lot worse than to jump on the band wagon and produce a 'book' based chassis as a bolster to the company sales and image -
then develop with some of their IRS stuff with inboard damping etc.
Maybe I should have bought the company - obviously befor eit was asset stripped, so if it all went wrong, I could strip the assests and run with the
cash!
Robin Hood did do a book based chassis, it never took off.
They also did one made of Stainless.
A lot of Robin Hood owners buy them because they are bigger than the average seven and they can get into them comfortably.
then they should lose weight the fat ****'s.................

Seriously there is more than enough knowledge on here to make cars to accommodate all, why build a compromised car where you seemingly have to
reengineer most of it, when you could just engineer it all yourself to start with.
