Does anyone know where to get a set of helmet earphiones that I can plug into my Ipod?
Tried using standard earphones, but they aren't the most comfortable!
It sounds like such a simple concept, but I can't find any for the life of me (at a reasonable price that doesn't interface with mobile
phones etc.)
Not sure about the legality or safety of what your trying to do but;
How about a finding some over the ear type earphone with slim profile drivers and mounting these behind the foam inserts for the helmet?

The reason you cant find any is that its illegal to listen to music through headphones whilst driving/riding. Actually its also illegal if you are on
a push bike, and technically if you are a pedestrian

Some of the bike intercoms have an aux input to connect to an mp3 player. My Goldwing had a really posh one which adjusted the volume the faster you
went 
Try one of the budget makes and you will obviously get the speakers but you might be able to use the control box too.

It can't be illegal, otherwise cars wouldn'y have stereo's, big bikes wouldn't come with a built in system and you wouldn't
be able to use intercoms either.
Besides, it's for my wofe whilst in the passenger seat 
I've found full systems that can have MP3, mobile etc. all through one box. But it was £150 and I only want the earphones for MP3 use

Its only illegal if you have a headphone in BOTH ears. Hence why intercoms are legal. Even the ones you listen to music through only have one
earpiece.
Listening to a stereo is different to headphones.
Dont ask me, I didnt make the rules...

I've found some pretty neat sets that combine earphones with ear protection.
Seems odd that you can't have earphones when you can use ear plugs too. Most intercoms I've seen (and used during my bike test) had two
earphones as well - good job no-one can tell once the helmet is on!
THESE are quite good, they fit in the ear canal and help block out external noise. I can still hear perfectly well it just cuts down
on wind roar and engine noise, plus allows you to listen to music - if you aren't driving of course ;-). I had a pair of the foam based ones,
(don't have a link) they were good - unfortunately these got caught up and broke and they cost me £30, so I went for something cheaper this time.
I had them plugged them into my mp3 playing phone and it worked well, except the phone started to phone people up as I was listening to songs!!
I bought myself a £34 mp3 player from hong king - it's an 2Gb Ipod nano rip off, works very well.
They look pretty good - probably the cheapest I've seen so far, I'll give them a go.

I bought one of them but have never used it due to the impractical headset, how did you solve the microphone? I thought of using some earphones stuck
into the lining but wasent sure about how to do the microphone so as not to pick up to much windnoise. I have thought about also velcroing that into
the chin guard on the helmet but havent got around to trying it yet .
