Excel expert needed again!

I have 2 speadsheets with part numbers, descriptions quantitys etc.
I need to identify which, of the numbers in the main spreadsheet, also appear in the minor spreadshhet, simple as that.
The result realy needs to be each line as it appears, with all coumms intact as it appearsin one of one of the speadsheets
ie ABC-12345, Widget, Small widget, 600.
I am led to believe that VLOOKUP could be the answer, but I'm an Excel novice and so have no idea how to format it.
Can anyone help, please?

do you need to list every item that is in the major spreadsheet on to the minor.

or are you wanting to type a number into the minor and for it to search the major list and then list the description etc..

Send the 2 files over to me via my email below, and ill take a look. Not really sure how to do it until i take a look.

Ill explain fully how I did it if I manage.

Just use a pivot table or VLookup.. Search Excel help for them and it'll tell you. Any probs let me know

Yes, I just want to create a new list with all the parts common to each spreadsheet.
I don't want to use it with an ad hoc search entry

I've heard of pivot tables too!
But the reason for asking here was that "Help" for both of these is not too clear either!!
