Hi all,
Me and the family are considering going to Jersey (chan Islands) next summer. Being that the island is only 10mls x 6mls, is it worth hiring a car ?
Anyone done this?
I can well imagine what few roads there are would be choked up pretty quickly.
Don't want to spend most of the holiday in traffic jams.
Any tips on the best way to travel around Jersey would be well appreciated.
The brochures seem to wax lyrical about how easy it is to get around using public transport (shudder). Is this the case?
Experiences anyone?
Many thanks
Dave

Bike hire?
I visit the channel islands regularly.
If I need to get around the Island I always hire a car.
They are usually cheap (get a deal with the airline you fly with)
You do get traffic jams in rush hour and along the sea front near St Helier in the summer, but it's nothing like the M25!!
Two decent taxi rides a day will pay for a hire car.
You will need to get some pre-pay parking cards. Available from garages, news agents etc.
Cheers
Mike
i would second that
you can also buy a bus pass, and you can then have a drink at lunchtime
but a car is so much easier
took the 7 this year
i always have, fair price as well
and good beach racing aswell

Thanks guys, that's very helpful
Anybody know if it's cheaper to book car hire here before I go or at the airport when I arrive?
Thanks.
dave.
You can get a family day bus pass very cheaply, You can have a beer when you feel like it then.
