I'm after a decent sat-nav system but don't want to pay the earth.

Anyone know of any good deals?

Cheers

Garmin i3 - £99 Delivered

The DSG stores (dixons/currys/pcworld/thelink) have them for £88.97 - Although postage cost varies between them.

Dixons

Currys

PcWorld

TheLink

Always worth popping into your local store to see if they have any stock tucked away.

Good and cheap do not go together!!!!!!
My recommendation is the Mio C710.
It has maps for 24 european countries, camera updates and TMC.
TMC is linked to free radio station traffic updates. This allows you to reroute around jams. It also does a lot more!!
If you want cheap and fairly good, go for tom ton one.
It does not do traffic or cameras unless you pay an annual fee and you have it bluetoothed to a wap enabled phone.
This can work out quite expensive.
So you can either spend 100 extra on the mio or spend it using the updates on the Tom Tom!

Bear in mind that you have to start paying real money if you want to postcode search 6 digits.

I think I am going to go for the Snooper Syrius, seems to do most things!

Rich.

Another vote here for the Garmin i3, cant beat it for the money, does full postcode searches and the speed camera side can be sorted by downloading the poi's from www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk

Mac

Yeah that's why I mentioned check your local store (you can phone customer services and they can also see where stock is, although not as reliable as going into your branch)

£99 delivered from carphonewarehouse is what i'd go for if I was after another one.

another vote for the garmin i3, it works really well, full post code searches etc, and also works well as a telephone directory! gives u numbers of all local services and entertain for example.

Also, if you have a PDA, TomTom 6 is available on the internet if you know where to look. With a £40 GPS receiver it's excellent, full postcode search and all...

I got a nearly new HP rz1710 (comes with a GPS unit) from Ebay then as UncleFista said got tomtom6 works great.

Camera updates are available from the same place.
